KNOW ALL MEN by these Presents, That we are held and firmly bound unto our Sovereign, Lady Queen Victoria, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and froland Queen, De- fender of the Faith, in the Sum of One Thousand dolla s (Hongkong emrency or its equivalent), to be paid to our said sovereign Lady the Queen, er Heirs and Successors; to which Payment, weil and truly to be made, we bind ourselves and every of n-, jointly and severally for and in the whole, our Heirs, Executors, Administratora, and every of them, firmly by these Prescuts.

189 1 Whereas by The Chinese Passengers (Short Voyages) Ordinance, 1896, it is enacted, that before any Chinese Passenger Ship to which the provisions of the said Onlinance shall apply shall clear out or proceed on a short roage as defined by such Ordinance, the Master the reof shall, with Two suflicient Suretics to be approved by an Emigration Officer, enter is to a Bond to Her Majesty, Her Heira and Successors, in the Sum of One Thousand dollars:
Now the condition of this onligation is this, that if (in respect of the ship
whereof is Master) all and every of the requirements of the said "Chinese Passengers (Short Voyages) Ordinance," and the Licence granted thereunder and of the Regulations contained in Schedule to the Faith Ordinance niexed, shall be well and truly observed and per formed (2) for a period of twelve mouths from the date hereof, (n like manner as the same ought to be observed and performed in case the said Ship were a British Ship, and the said
a British Subject), (3) then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
